Africa Walks Against Malaria is a symbolic and impactful community walk organised as part of the World Malaria Day celebrations. The event mobilises participants, local communities, students, and health workers to walk together as a unified statement of commitment to ending malaria in Africa.

The 2024 edition was held on April 25th - World Malaria Day - in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing together thousands of participants from across Africa and around the world. The walk symbolised the power of collective action and community-driven efforts at the heart of malaria elimination.

Grassroots mobilisation - including community walks, awareness campaigns, and local health education - is a critical pillar in the fight against malaria. Events like Africa Walks reinforce that elimination is not only a scientific challenge but also a community-led movement.
